European Union food programmes

The agricultural aid programmes of the European Commission are basically designed to assist those in difficulty and to support healthy nutrition among children.
Supplying those in greatest need with foodstuffs is a market organisation measure of the European Union, as part of which it is possible through a volunteer programme to provide the less well-off with free or minimally priced agricultural products or products made from them bought at the intervention purchase price.
Applications to be included in the food aid scheme can be submitted by organisations which are listed in the register of non-profit organisations and foundations and whose area of activity comprises charity.
The aim of school milk support is to promote the consumption of milk and milk products among kindergarten and school pupils. The support allows such products to be provided to these pupils at a discounted price as part of the aid scheme.

More detailed information regarding support measures is available here (in Estonian)
